A Blue Friend, A Storm, A Proposal
On the way south to adopt two senior dogs, we had an overnight stay in Mount Dora. After dinner, I went to Lake Dora to take sunset photos but the sun was hidden by threatening clouds, changing my subject matter from a sunset to a storm.
Oh, and, a great blue heron and I had an intimate visit and I videoed a marriage proposal.
The couple on the bench above became engaged with me videoing the proposal with the young man’s phone. He told his girlfriend that he was asking me to take a photo of them when he actually asked that I video his proposal. His proposal was traditional — one knee and a diamond. She said yes. Thank goodness — it would have been an embarrassing moment otherwise! As I was leaving I got this shot of them having a romantic moment.
But before I reached the parking lot, the heron left his post to join on the ground, posing politely for more than fifteen minutes before flying to a fishing pier in hopes of spearing a fish for dinner.
