Actually, people were great at first and made many promises (lunch, dinner, walks, etc). Out of 8 such offers only one followed through. They all know I have no family here, but I didn't receive any invitations over the holidays. I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years alone. I don't trust anyone now. Of course, eight months into this journey,, most people think I shouldn't be sad or lonely anymore.
