Again, I give you my understanding of what this time is for you. My Pooh was healthy in the traditional sense. In spite of 16 years, she was cancerless and strong of heart. But, her doggie ALS was stealing her muscles, one by one, slower than predicted but faster than desired. She had the attitude of the puppy she once was, trying to bound to her feet and Jumanji our Peke. The bounding became a slow struggle to stand, sometimes with help. If not for that muscle-devouring disease, I think she may have reached twenty. It was a long goodbye but one with golden moments that will stay in my heart forever. May your golden moments be many, Louise.
