Ah, Annie, I remember all the snakes at my childhood home in Virginia. Many black and garter snakes, a few copperheads, and plenty of water moccasins. When I lived in the country here we saw coral, black, rat, racer and garter snakes on our property. Never saw a rattlesnake on our land but saw several crossing the limerock road that led to our neighborhood. After moving to town and in our old house, we had a black snake that lived in the bushes around our house. Haven’t seen a snake at our new home although my husband saw either a king or coral near the sidewalk along the boulevard. Don’t mind rat or garter snakes and black snakes are okay as long as they aren’t cornered but the rest are scary!
