Ah, but Ben doesn’t eat many vegetables — iceberg lettuce and tomatoes — not much else. And, tofu, please! He would starve first, although I love it, as well as tempeh. He loves pasta but with meat sauce and, of course, he can’t eat much pasta at one sitting or his blood sugar does crazy. So, he mostly eats meat and potatoes and tuna. He likes a few canned soups but can’t eat them often due to the salt content. Sometimes, his dinner is Glucerna and graham crackers!

Besides being a vegetarian with no set meal schedule, I also have an odd diet habit of eating one thing. I don’t particularly want a plate with several items on it. I like one or two food items at a time. And, I get what I call hums. Actually, my father was the same way and that was his name for wanting the same thing over and over. I will eat the same dish for days. Then, I tire of that food and won’t eat it again for months, maybe, years. When the kids were dining with us regularly, I ate more “normal”.

Yeah, preparing meals in our house is a challenge! That’s why restaurant food is easier. We both order what we want and have plenty of leftovers!
