Ah, John, but the land is gone — put to other uses, none as lovely as orange groves! Regarding “temperature swings”, it’s not unusual for us to have a swing of 30 to 40 degrees from one day to the next or even from morning to night. Really hard to get acclimated with those swings! That’s what northerners don’t think about. In the winter, they have a difference of 2, 4, maybe 10 degrees from day to night or from day to day. Not much difference, whereas we go from summery weather to freezing in a matter of hours.
