Although I have a mid-level Canon, I often find my Samsung Note 8 cell phone camera is a better choice. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. At a local Butterfly Rainforest, my cell phone focused quicker to take photos of the fast fluttering butterflies. By the time my Canon focused on a butterfly, it was off to the next flower.

My cell is nearly always at hand and therefore the camera I use the most. The Canon is a more deliberate choice, especially when taking a photography road trip or walk.

Like you, Erika, taking photos is a passion of mine. I have poor knowledge of all the mechanics and options on my Canon, although I do want to learn more, but have been told by professional photographers that I have a good eye.

I truly enjoyed this post and hope you share more of your photography and narratives about your photographic experiences.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
