Ann, thanks so much for sharing your bird obsession with us and introducing us to your MIL. Sounds like the two of you had a special relationship - and still do ♥

Over the three years we've lived here and started spending our breakfast time on the screened porch that looks on the lake, Captain Argentina and I also became bird watchers. Our favorites are the cardinal couple that flits about - the first birds I hear in the morning and the last at night. They nibble on the black oil sunflower seeds we scatter. A pair of doves dine on the cracked corn we sprinkle for the ducks. Carolina wrens are plentiful and woodpeckers, red-headed and pileated, tap, tap on the trees.

And, of course, our ducks - black-bellied whistlers, Muscovies, and Mallards.

I have a fabulous app that lets you record a bird's song and tells you what kind of bird it is.

I can't believe I was alive for more than 60 years before I became a bird watcher!
