Anne, create your title and subtitle, as usual. Then, put your cursor before the first letter in your title and hit enter to move it down one line. In the space that you just created above the title write what Medium calls your kicker — I use it mostly for prompts. Then, highlight and choose the small “t” as you would for a subtitle. That should make the top line your kicker with the second line your title and the third line your subtitle.

I’ve seen the foxes many times since spring. Caught one fuzzy photo of one pup when both were very young and not hunting yet. Both were sitting outside their den. It was early morning, so I imagine mom was still out hunting. One pup ran in the den but the other stayed outside long enough for me to shoot one hasty picture before he, too, disappeared into the den.

Back in the spring, a neighbor got an excellent photo of the mother. She is sitting at the edge of some woods in the daylight, which is surprising for a fox and is what allowed the neighbor to take a very good photo. I was jealous! Nearly all my sightings have been in the early morning when light is low. Not to mention that the foxes all dash away quickly.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
