As I've confessed before, I don't travel much, Jack. For most of my life, it was due to a lack of money and a previous husband who "saw it all in the Navy" and had no desire to see anything else. But, what little traveling I've done - nothing more foreign than Canada - I've done in relative comfort. Still, my travels had some discomfort, problems, and scary moments. Travel, by the very definition of leaving home and going someplace else, suggests there will be some discomfort, confusion and chaos. If a trip on social media looks too good to be true, it probably is. And if it really was that good, what did you get from it? Might as well rent a fancy hotel close to home and sit around the pool drinking margaritas.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
