Looks like you did pretty well, Jack, and learned many valuable lessons along the way. Trouble with homemade pizza — unless you live in Italy — is that you probably don’t have a brick fire oven that adds flavor. But, we make allowances for homemade, don’t we?
The real issue here is that Chicago deep-dish pizza is not pizza in my recipe book — it’s a casserole. I am a New York-style pizza person all the way!!
