Christine, I held off commenting on your last post about Israel because I didn't know what to say and hoped I'd find wise words to share. I didn't, and I don't know what to say now other than I am so confused by the hatred being displayed in so many places and prominently in the U.S. Every news report saddens and angers me more. How can anyone defend or justify the Hamas attack? How can Israel not respond?

I'm so distressed that you are shouldering this on top of your failing health. I wish I could say or do something to help. Can anyone? I doubt it. But know that I care and have come to love and respect you from afar.
