Definitely feeling the fear with you, Joe, although your location is more vulnerable than mine. Gas stations here had long, long lines today and some ran out of fuel. Publix stores were packed. Bottled water is in short supply.

We receive bottles of Crystal Springs water for our cooler. 50 gallons arriving tomorrow so we are set. Probably need to pick up a few grocery items, cat food, and some meds for my hubby. Our car is 2/3 full of gas. I think we will be in good shape once I clear projectiles from my patio and garden spaces and tape up some windows.

I sure miss my grandson right now — he was a huge help when Irma came our way in 2017 and an even bigger help cleaning up debris around my townhome circle after her departure. My neighbors fell in love with him after Irma. He did all he could to help all he could. My granddaughter did her best also while wearing a flowing dress, heels, and jewelry. Still, she did an admirable job of picking up small branches and tree debris and she did it in style. They called from up north tonight to check on us and said they wished they were here to help. My heart swelled.

How about you? Will you stay put in South Florida?

Great poem by the way. I admire you being able to wax poetic about a fast-approaching hurricane!

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
