Definitely! How inspiring that it’s been renovated and used for a worthy purpose.
I travel to NJ annually to visit family and my husband and I take a train to Manhattan each morning. Along that route are so many abandoned factories and warehouses that I am left depressed until I see the towering buildings of NYC. I’ve always thought an interesting project would be to photograph many of those empty buildings, research the history of each, and write a book. My husband and many of his family worked in those factories when they first immigrated in the 60’s. He remembers the bustling businesses that employed ten of thousands of workers, all laughing, chattering, and complaining as they came to and from their shifts. Now you only hear the wind and the scurrying of rodents. Sad.
