Excellent photo, Ronald, but it is nice to know the kind of bird.

Does it matter? Is this photo better if you know it’s called (I hope) Audouin’s Gull? If you are a dedicated birdwatcher, a “birder,” I think it does. What matters to me is the fortuitous position of the rock, the low light reflecting off the sea onto the bird, and the way the light is catching the corner of his or her eye. And, of course, the birdprints in the sand.
