Excellent story, Nick. My husband has a saying: Nothing happens when you stay home. Of course, he loves our home and the time we enjoy there. He means that nothing new and enlightening happens when you stay home. Home life creates ruts and an over-dependence on familiarity, often leaving one inflexible, opinionated, and closed off to environment and community. Get out, talk to people, attend events. Experience life, know your neighbors, meet new people, get involved, be entertained by all around you.
