Fascinating project, Josh. Most people I know have jobs they fell into, not what they considered, much less dreamed of. Myself included. Even those with advanced degrees aren’t entirely sure why they are where they, doing what they do. Happenstance seems as probable as planning. Most don’t consider satisfaction or happiness as important as paying the bills, and with stagnant wages and looming economic uncertainty that is understandable. For those who truly enjoy and take pride in what they do, their companies, offices, supervisors, management, and co-workers drain the satisfaction of a job well done, often making each workday a drudge.
