February 2, 2017 — North Central Florida

The days are humming with springtime — flowers in bloom, birds migrating, sneezes triggered by allergens that should not be so abundant the second day of February. That pesky groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter. His forecasts don’t always work this far south, but I anticipate we will have at least two more freezes before our winter ends here. This morning, birds dissented loudly, trilling and warbling that raggedy winter caught a ride north with the sandhill cranes.
