First, Quasimodo, thanks for doing a mostly thankless job - well, at least one often taken for granted.
I voted in person for our summer elections (Florida) and was very pleased with my county's virus mitigation at the polling place. Here, no one was allowed inside without a mask and throwaway masks were available if needed. Only a few people were allowed in at one time. ID placed on an electronic pad, read by a computer. No one touched my ID but me. My ballot came out of a machine and after voting I fed it into a different contraption. Pens for voting were sanitized after each use. Very clean, very safe.
I appreciate you sharing your experience with us. As November draws hear, many are worried about voting in person due to virus concerns and voting by mail due to USPS concerns. I feel completely safe voting and person and will know that my vote was counted.
A reminder that even if you vote by mail, you do not have to rely on the post office to get your ballot to your local elections office. You can hand deliver and most communities have drop boxes.
