I admire your language diversity. I studied French in school and could read, write and understand much but was horribly lacking in speaking it. When I adopted an Hispanic girl and ended up with an Argentine husband, I tried to learn Spanish, even had a private tutor, but was worse at Spanish than French. Studying at an age over 50 did not help! I guess languages, other than English, are not my thing! My daughter, fluent in Spanish and English, is enthralled with anything Japanese and even vacationed in Japan a few years ago. She is teaching herself Japanese, as she once did Bulgarian, and is able to converse in simple conversations. Unfortunately, working full-time and raising two children does not leave her much time to pursue her love of languages.
