I agree. I was simply commenting on what I’ve noticed, especially the lack of attention from being curated. That was always a big boost. I used to get an emotional lift when I received those editor emails. I enjoyed watching the numbers climb for claps, followers, and coins. It was obvious that curation was a solid form of promotion as well as a confirmation that my writing was appreciated by the “professionals”.

Now, I think Well, that’s nice and go about my business. I miss that curation rush.

Like you, I never made a lot of money but enough to feel encouraged to write more when time allowed.

And, I’ve definitely noticed longer poems, poets writing more non-poetry pieces, and even fiction and nonfiction writers exploring with longer articles and stories.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
