I don’t recall any other significant influences in my grandson’s life that that time which may have contributed to his change in behavior (my daughter and grandchildren were living with me at the time) but I would be open to that suggestion if it weren’t for the fact that his behavior and habits improved right after he stopped playing often and found other interests. So, yes, he came through fine, but how would he be if he had continued with the games and not taken up soccer?

My friend also came through but she was older when she made the observation concerning the change in her empathy. Would someone much younger be able to make a mature observation like that and withdraw from the gaming playing for a while to determine its effect? Would someone younger be able to return to gaming while remaining away of its effects?

Certainly personalities are in play here.
