I feel sadness that your mother won't be present - sad for you and her and your son. We focus so much on the small inconveniences of a virus-saturated world, like wearing masks and staying home, that we don't consider those that are forced to miss the once-in-a-lifetime special moments like witnessing the birth of your first grandchild.
