I feel ya. My story is similar. Small breasts when I was young. Living in Florida where pretty tank tops were considered dressing up. Then, I moved to Atlanta and worked in offices where bras were mandatory.

Back in Florida, a few years later, but still working in professional offices, I wore bras for work and church and gave the girls freedom the rest of the time.

As with you, menopause settled on my chest, taking me from an A cup to a C. My braless hours were homebound.

Later, weight gain took me to a D cup.

What bothers me most is that our generation raised daughters who raised more daughters who wear the most atrocious undergarments to corral, tame, enhance, situate, and accentuate the breasts we fought to free!

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
