I have been reading and watching videos about the rain there, Farah. Soggy is definitely the perfect word for the conditions.
Areas in the Southern U.S., all north of us, are also experiencing catastrophic flooding. We’ve been fortunate that the worst storms stayed only miles north of us. We had one wicked system bring heavy winds to us but not enough rain to cause flooding. We were without power for about 12 hours and many tree branches and debris were scattered about. After springlike weather for a couple of weeks and with everything in bloom, the temperatures will fall below freezing tonight, which will definitely stress the blossoms and tender new leaves. High winds are also expected.
Your poem is delightful even though the subject is worrisome. I hope you receive some sunshine and warmth soon. Thanks for sharing your unpleasant circumstances in such a fun and whimsical poem!
