I have no interest whatsoever in high school reunions, Jack, but did think I might have continued relationships with my co-workers after retirement. Now, I know differently. Oh, I expect, as was the case with you t,o hear from them for a very long time when they need help with work matters but nothing social.

In fact, I took off this week, and even with my assistant at my busiest office, I’ve been bombarded with issues via email. All issues I could have taken care of before my vacation had anyone thought ahead. And, although they claim otherwise, all issues that could wait until my return. Makes we want to leave all the more, especially since some of the “problems” the other employees could handle but refuse to. My other two offices were fairly quiet — only 4 emails from one of them. Sigh. I log my remote work time and during my week off I still put in more than 6 hours.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
