I just now saw your response, Soul Dancer, and I agree about finding your passion. Unfortunately, few parents or schools teach or encourage young people to do that. It’s always about the money — not necessarily a lot of money but enough to survive so you can raise more children to feed into the system. Honestly, I know very few people are engaged in a money-earning activity that is their passion. In fact, I know very few people who know what their passion is.

Regardless of where you work and why, we all deserve respect and compensation for the work we do. Most of the wage-earners I know may not consider their work as their passion, but the vast majority are hard-workers, competent, efficient, and well-respected. They deserve honesty and respect from their employers/bosses and decent compensation.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
