I know that is the dictionary definition but I believe women have taken ownership of the word and redefined it in a positive way. Like I said, at least around here you will hear older women proudly refer to themselves as crones, especially those who dabble in the creative arts.

I shall take ownership of the word CRONE here on Medium. I declare that crones are wildly creative, fun-loving, and wise women too old and too experienced to be called girls and too outrageous to be called ladies.

There, it’s official:

We are crones!

Maybe Sherry and Annie and a few others will join our crone movement. I think we need a writers/artist group called The Crones.
