I lived north of Baltimore — first in Towson, a large suburb, and then Glen Arm, a small country town.

There are beautiful places in Maryland. Baltimore has a few nice areas but many are simply awful. When we take Amtrak to NJ we pass through Baltimore and it’s depressing.

I spent most of my childhood in Virginia. One of my father’s many occupations was as a waterman. He caught and sold crabs. We at a lot of crabs when I was young. They were like hamburger is many homes — the cheap and easy food to serve. I am a vegetarian now and haven’t eaten any living creatures in 31 years.

Sounds like you had a nice time. Certainly was worth the drive.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
