I lived on the northside of Atlanta — Marietta — in the late 70s and early 80s. Did not like it at all! Our home and neighborhood were fine, rather rural for the area, but the rest of it was too busy. I drove 60 minutes in heavy traffic going to and from work. Because the city is so spread out, people working together might actually live 20, 30 or more miles apart, making it difficult to develop friendships with coworkers. Five years there and my then-husband and I still felt very disconnected from our neighbors and our coworkers. I hope your experience is better!
