I love the purple and yellow together. So striking!

Although it tends to be a bit invasive if not kept under control, this tall purple wild Aster provides a mass of lovely flowers from mid August to the end of September. It often grows alongside Goldenrod (Solidago), so you get the purple and yellow. We have some Goldenrod in the garden, some of which is near other stands of this Aster.
