I love this, Tre. Your fear and your joy are evident in your words. Ben and I have eaten in a restaurant once since the start of the pandemic. That was in late March of 2021, after we received our two Covid vaccinations. And, I got food poisoning! Haven't wanted to return to a restaurant since. In fact, it wasn't until this summer that we started getting take-out meals.

One of my clients, a law firm of 13 people, not including me, has continued to have Christmas parties with no regard of Covid. I haven't been to a single on since 2019. Their party is at a restaurant this Thursday, and I won't be there. But, since they all refused to wear masks in the office, I don't feel like I'm missing much. None of those people are my friends.
