I rarely use my phone for Medium anymore because the app is so wonky, Jack. Let’s say I’m reading one of your pieces and someone else has highlighted a sentence that I decide to highlight. As soon as I do, the highlights (mine and the one before) disappear. Nothing is highlighted! But, if I go on my computer, the highlights are there.

I changed my settings so I don’t get emails notifying me of highlights. I was just getting too many emails. With that said, I am supposed to be getting emails notifying me of comments but that doesn’t happen at least 50% of the time and it’s been that way for months. I have to go to the little bell to see who’s commented on what.

Sometimes when using the phone app (Android), I can’t comment.

Before the last update (or two), I did most of my Medium reading, highlighting, clapping, and commenting on my phone. Now, I almost never do.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
