I think food is one of the cornerstones of culture, Anne. My husband was exposed to so many different types of foods in Argentina, as it’s as much a melting pot as the U.S. is. In fact, Argentinians don’t eat much of the typical Hispanic foods — rice, beans, tortillas, burritos, etc. Instead, their meals are more Italian in nature, with the exception of their great love of beef and asados (grilling meat outside). They eat lots of bread — Italian and French — and lots of pasta. Their bakeries rival any you would find in France or Italy. The best pastries I’ve ever eaten came from Argentinian bakeries.

I was always a writer but lived in a bookkeeper’s body before I found Medium and broke free — well, almost. Working to work less and write more.
