I thoroughly enjoyed your poem!

I totally get this, Eileen! My garden is very small - 2 tiny plots in front and 2 in back and to control (Ha!) the overgrowth, I covered one in front and one in back with weed cloth and river rock. The weeds laugh as they poke their gnarly heads around stones.

The one area in the back without rock is rather well-contained due to the presence of bushes and trees and a planted-on-purpose succulent ground-cover. Ah, but that wild front plot is unruly and disruptive.

Never have I seen a snake at my townhome. Did see one - a black whip - in a neighbor's front garden. Recently had Critter Control out for critters in the attic and he asked if, being on the lake, do we see many water moccasins. I told him, "Never", and he was so shocked, I am now on the lookout for those aggressive vipers!
