I use the Merlin sound ID all the time, Randy. I often walk with my phone held aloft and the app identifying the birds around me. I check the app, then look for the birds, especially those that like to hide. Otherwise, I would miss the sneaky ones! The app has helped me locate 8 birds I've never seen before.
