I was getting curated - both poetry and longer pieces - several times a month but haven't received a curation email in at least 4 weeks.

I used to care but not as much anymore. Curation doesn't have the same effect it used to. Maybe long-term, as you claimed, Christina, but not short-term. In fact, my last 3 curated pieces received less attention and earned less money than almost everything else I wrote during that period.

I've reached the point where I just write what I want, when I want. I ignore stats. I don't look at earnings until I see a deposit in my bank account. Before the PP changes last fall, my earnings were enough to pay my monthly car insurance, but now they are barely enough for lunch in an inexpensive restaurant.

With that said, I don't depend on Medium to keep the lights on. Others need to stay aware and read articles like this one.
