I wish your words left me shocked and speechless. They don’t. I am white but most of my chosen family is Hispanic. My stepmother (the only mother I ever knew) acted a great deal like your grandmother. The way she treated my adopted Honduran daughter was appalling. Consequently, she never knew her two great-grandchildren, my daughter’s kids. I feared she would treat them as bad or worse because both their parents are Hispanic. It was her loss. My grandchildren are amazing people and she died not knowing them.

I am sorry for your treatment as I was for my daughter’s. Fortunately, you know and celebrate who you are.
