I would definitely prefer a German bakery over Starbucks! Here, there is a Starbucks every few miles. Very convenient, but there are places with better coffee. In fact, Ben blends his own coffee mix and it's much better than Starbucks.

Starbucks breakfast foods are not very good. Edible if that's all you have, but not all that tasty and certainly not the quality of a good bakery.

We have a privately-owned bakery about a mile from our house. Food is excellent, although I can't eat any of it anymore due to my gluten allergy, but their coffee is so-so. Very ordinary but not bad.
