I’m not just talking about exterior characteristics though, Gail. Diversity must include beliefs and customs to be true diversity. And, the idea that “ People do business with people who believe what they believe” scares me. I agree wholeheartedly with using your dollars to bring about change — for example, I won’t buy products from companies that use lab animals for research— but wonder if that is what Simon Sinek is saying. Sounds more like discriminatory buying practices which is very disturbing. Admittedly, I am only vaguely familiar with his work and certainly not enough to interpret what one of his quotes out of context may mean.
