I’m sure we’ve all been insensitive to the seniors while we were still juniors. And, it’s wrong but when an over-50 employee is at the top of her/his game in every way possible, it’s more than insensitive to exclude and ignore her/him. And, in my mind, criminal to pay higher salaries to younger employees with less experience and knowledge and fewer skills.
Our modern cultures, especially in the USA, are so youth-centric that age is a detriment. It’s very sad that we don’t seek out the wisdom and experience of our seniors.
