In my previous marriage, we were so careful not to say hurtful remarks, no name calling allowed. I ended up with years of unsaid words that poisoned me. With Ben, it’s completely different. We get mad, yell, call each other names. We stew for a while, not talking, avoiding even looking at each other. Then, it’s over. We’re fine. Laughter and conversation return. It works for us. Interesting, isn’t it, how we, especially as couples, have to uncover how communication works best for us?
