It is amazing how many memories they have lost. There is a "memory of place" that is missing. When children spend their early years in one place, they constantly see the locations of their memories. You drive by and say remember when we did this or that there. It keeps their memories fresh because you and they are constantly recollecting memories made in different places. Once they live elsewhere, there is no memory of place and they forget the dinners and parties and all the other memories of place. It's very sad.
