It’s 10:45 am, Kat of Magik, and now I’m craving kale, which I haven’t eaten in — well, a very long time.

I’m a vegetarian but dislike preparing/cooking vegetables! Washing, scrubbing, slicing and dicing — ugh. Then, deciding how to cook or not cook. My husband does most of the cooking at home but other than potatoes, sliced tomatoes, and the veggies he puts in his Italian sauce, he’s NOT a vegetable chef. Sadly, I allow restaurants to prepare most of the vegetables that I eat.

Since you asked about favorite veggies, I have a tale of woe. My favorite is broccoli — raw or cooked — love it! Unfortunately, after two years of extreme allergy attacks, which I was certain were caused by airborne allergens, testing proved that most of my allergies were food-related. Top of the list? Broccoli. What a sad discovery that was! I find I can eat it occasionally in small amounts with no effects. But, if I get greedy and have my green trees two or three times during a week, I’ll pay the price. And, wouldn’t you know it, that was the one vegetable I could cook to perfection!
