I’ve never known anyone else who is as consistent about picking up coins as he is, Sherry. He does have a rule though — if he finds a significant amount and has a chance of locating the owner, he does. There was a gas station we frequented near our former home. Many laborers and blue collar workers lived in the area and shopped in the attached store. Once Ben was walking out of the store and saw a crumpled $5 bill on the sidewalk. It wasn’t there when he entered so it was reasonable to conclude that someone in the store dropped it. There were at least 6 people inside, none of whom looked like they could afford to lose $5, so Ben walked inside and asked if anyone was missing money. All the patrons checked their pockets and one man said he was missing a $5 bill. He was so grateful when Ben handed him the money!
