Jack, it's like I'm reading about a culture in a far-distant land. A culture with lots of seasonal rules that make me itchy.

I'm more about encouraging spring. Bring out the flowery wreaths, giant metal butterflies, the hummingbird feeder, and the lawn furniture and coax Spring to come early. All those snowpeople will convince Spring that Winter is too deeply entrenched to make room for her. She'll just tiptoe away dejectedly and not return until June.

Time to redecorate!!
