James, I would never defend the Catholic Church which is why I no longer identify as one.

I’ve attended three churches in my lifetime: Catholic in my childhood, Christian (the denomination) in my young adulthood, and Southern Baptist is my mid-adulthood. More than enough religious mumble-jumble to last a lifetime! They are all complicit in eroding our country’s separation of church and state. They are all supporters of various forms of sexism, racism, heterosexism, homophobia, ableism, and classism. They are all male-dominated businesses that care more about money and power than spirituality which is exactly why the leaders of those institutions of religion support Trump and brainwash their followers/members to do the same.
