Joel, this is an excellent and important piece of work. How we refer to the people in our lives, and more particularly the people in the lives of our children, is paramount to what we want those people to be, how we want out children to see them, and how we interact with them. Respect and appreciation can solidify and magnify our relationships, and teach our children that cooperation and dignity are the cornerstones of who we are and how we approach life and those in our lives. Acknowledging the importance of someone gives them a feeling of relevance and acceptance. This is how we build relationships. Respect, dignity, and appreciation.
