John, here in Florida, I had to scrape ice off my windshield to go to work this morning! This has been the coldest and longest cold I remember in more than 40 years here. Last night was a hard freeze - tropical plants in my yard are black. My daughter, who lives much closer to you than to me, sent me long underwear and a puffer coat that goes to my mid-calf to help combat the extreme cold we've had. I am ready for spring, too, although I also dread the thought ot record-breaking heat in the summer. Thanks for your hopeful poem.
