John, I was raised in the Northern Neck of Virginia, and my father owned a marine railway and was a crabber. While our friends and family in other states couldn't afford to eat crabs, we ate them as often as today's families consume Big Macs. They were boring to us.
I've been a vegetarian since 1988, so I'll never partake of crab again, but it is distressing to know their numbers have decreased so dramatically.
